REMEMBRANCE DAY

This morning we held a small Remembrance Day Service before our usual Monday morning assembly. This was run by several of the children from 5/6 O and 5/6 S. We recited two verses and laid two wreaths under the flag.

They shall grow not old

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

In Flanders Field

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

The Grade 5’s Visit The Local Kinders……

Last week the Grade 5 children, Mrs Schumacher and Mrs Smith walked down to two of our local kinders to meet some of the new children that will be coming here next year.

While we were there we read picture story books to the little kids, played with them and even got to help them plant little trees at Joy St Kinder
