Basketball Lightning Premiership 2017

On Friday the 25th of August we had our Annual Basketball Lightning Premiership. We had a girls’ team which was coached by Mrs Smith and a boys’ team which was coached by Mr O.

In the girl’s team we had Lani, Tatiana, Pearl, Carla & Grace.
In the boy’s team we had Sam, Chris, Ky, Jack, Maurice & Christian.

We were pretty pumped about the whole day. We played 11 games each….it was tiring but lots of fun, we were exhausted by the end. The Girls had 5 wins, 1 draw & 5 Losses

The boys had 10 wins & 1 loss

After we had all finished playing basketball we had a presentation.

The girl’s team came 4th and the boy’s team came 1st

GO FEPS!!!!!

P.S Thanks to all our parents & Grandparents who came to watch and support us!!!!!!

Friday 19th of May saw children from grades 3 to 6 travel to Woodleigh Senior Campus to compete in the annual District Cross Country.

The children were fantastic giving their all in the races they ran, helping our school come 3rd in the junior section, 5th in the senior section and 5th overall in our division.

The weather was very kind to us with just enough sun to take the chill out of the air and the rain stayed away until we made it back to school.

Our best runners this year were Kenyan N who ran 10th, Jaxton E who ran 12th,  Matty W who ran 14th, Carla A who ran 11th and Matilda F who ran 13th

Congratulations again to all the children that competed. A job well done

On Tuesday 18th of April we had Dylan Roberton and Jade Gresham from St Kilda Football Club come and give us a talk about setting goals for our future. After that they took us outside where we had a kick around of the footy and we played a few games and won some prizes.

Wednesday the 29th of  March saw Alex and Gary  from Disability Sport and Recreation come and visit us.  Gary explained how he had had a work accident as a young man and become a paraplegic.  He told us all about how he learnt to cope with life and how he had to relearn how to do many of the things he always took for granted.

Alex was born with Spina bifida, she could actually use her legs but found life much easier in a wheel chair.

After a chat we went outside where we got to sit in a wheelchair and play basketball.

Last Friday many children from grades 3 to 6 competed at Ballam Park athletics track in the annual district sports day.

All the children gave 100% and competed with good spirit and sportsmanship to help our school come 4th in our division.

A big thank you to the children on their excellent behaviour throughout the day and also to the parents who came along to support their children and our school ….GO FEPS!!!!

‘Young Art Awards Finalist’………

Last Monday I received a gold medal for being a ‘Young Art Awards Finalist’. I had entered an art competition online with a drawing of the Disney character Stitch. I had drawn the picture on my computer using a drawing program called Paint, which is on every Microsoft/Windows computer.

Mum had said I should enter an art competition online so I searched for one and finally found a good looking website. I entered my name, age, school etc. I was going through my pictures to find a good one to enter, I finally decided on my Stitch picture.
